Dear Colleagues,
This Friday, Nov, 5 from 4–5 pm, join an open meeting to kick off the work of multiple committees charged with looking at: Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) policy, the use of SETs for evaluating teaching, online teaching, promotion factors for teaching faculty, and equity (including pay equity).

These 2N committees are the result of negotiations. They will include both administrative appointees and faculty and academic staff members of our union.
Many of us are skeptical of the power of committees to effect meaningful change. However, these committees have the potential to positively impact our working conditions if we make sure that they represent our interests, and that their recommendations are heard.
The first step is to show that behind each committee, there are engaged faculty and academic staff paying attention to the process, speaking up, and contributing to the outcome.
Come Friday to weigh in: breakout rooms will be set up for each of the 5 issues on the table. Members will be able to choose which discussion to join, and will help set priorities for that group.
